Before Ed retired as a manager at a John Hancock Agency, singing Barbershop Harmony was not on his "Things to Do" list. Play golf four times a week? Yes! Spend quality time with loving wife, Francine, their children and 10 grandchildren? An emphatic YES!! But, then four years ago, "Francine spotted an ad in the Sun-Sentinel and saw a way to get me out of her hair," says Ed.

Music has always been part of his family's life. They enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music. Singing together at dinner was standard-operating procedure. His daughter, Mary, majored in musical theater at SUNY at Fredonia.

Until Barbershopping, the only performing he had ever done was career-related public speaking but now he performs all the time with the chorus and CAMEO quartet. He says, "I wish I had found it earlier, but..."
